Denim Shorts I’m Loving Right Now (All Under $30)

White deconstructed hem denim shorts on a sunny day

I pulled on a pair of white denim shorts this morning without thinking about it. That is the test, really: when something becomes effortless enough to reach for on autopilot, it has earned its place in the closet.

These three pairs have done exactly that. They look far more expensive than they are, and each one does something slightly different well.

Walmart Time and Tru Deconstructed Hem High Rise Shorts

I have these in white β€” the pair I wear most often this summer β€” and they are easily my favorite for a clean, polished look. The deconstructed hem gives them that intentionally undone finish you usually find on pricier brands.

They run very small, so size up one from your usual shorts size. It makes all the difference.

Target High Rise A-Line Denim Shorts

If your thighs need a little extra room, these are the ones. The A-line cut is forgiving without looking boxy, and there are two small slits at the side seams that add a nice touch of movement. They sit high on the waist but still have a bit of stretch, which keeps them comfortable all day.

My advice: go with your larger size, especially since shorts in general tend to run small.

Time and Tru High Rise Denim Shorts

This is the pair for anyone who prefers a shorter inseam. At five inches, they hit just above mid-thigh β€” classic summer territory. The denim has enough give that it doesn’t bag out after a few wears, and the finished hem keeps things neat.

Under $20, these are the easiest yes I’ve had all season.
